Senators Stabenow, Peters Announce Support for Mt. Morris, Croswell Firefighters and First Responders

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters today announced over $179,000 for the City of Mt. Morris Fire Department and the Croswell E.M.S. to help purchase equipment. This grant comes from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Assistance to Firefighters Grants program.

“Our firefighters and first responders in Mt. Morris and Croswell put their lives on the line to protect our families and homes,” said Senator Stabenow. “Thanks to these new resources, these brave men and women will have the equipment they need to help them do their jobs more safely and effectively.”

“Michigan firefighters work around the clock to keep our homes, businesses, and families safe from harm,” said Senator Peters. “I am pleased that these new resources will be available to help Mt. Morris and Croswell Fire Departments obtain the equipment, resources, and training needed to protect their brave firefighters and first responders responding to emergencies.”

Eligible fire departments and Emergency Medical Services organizations in Michigan and across the country can apply for Assistance to Firefighters Grants. These competitive grants help first responders purchase the equipment and obtain the training needed to handle fire-related hazards.
