Peters to Ride His Motorcycle for 5-Day, 12-County Tour Peters Will Meet With Community Leaders, Veterans & Servicemembers at Camp Grayling
WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Gary Peters (MI) today announced his #RideMI Motorcycle Tour that will take him from East to West Michigan to hear directly from constituents and discuss his work on their behalf in the U.S. Senate. Peters, an avid motorcycle rider, will be making stops in twelve counties over the course of the five-day tour, where he will discuss his efforts to help grow Michigan’s small businesses, bolster our manufacturing sector and expand critical infrastructure. Peters is a member of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee and the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee.
The #RideMI tour begins this Monday, August 29th, with visits to Iosco and Alcona Counties. Stay tuned for more specifics about events happening on the #RideMI tour.
“There’s nothing better than seeing Michigan’s gorgeous scenery by motorcycle, and I’m excited to kick off this tour that will take me from Michigan’s beautiful lakeshores to our fertile farmlands,” said Senator Peters. “In the Senate, I want to ensure that I am representing every county in our state, and this tour will allow me to hear directly from constituents and talk with them about how we can support Michigan small businesses and grow our economy in every community.”
Peters, a former Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve and strong advocate for Michigan’s military installations, will also meet with local veterans and stop at Camp Grayling and Wolverine Worldwide, which makes footwear for the U.S. military.

Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve, I’m focused on strengthening Michigan’s critical military installations and supporting the brave men and women in uniform, who put their lives on the line to protect our country,” Peters added. “I’m looking forward to meeting with Michigan servicemembers and veterans to discuss how we can continue to grow Michigan’s role as a hub for the defense industry and provide the right care and assistance to help our veterans transition to civilian life.”

On the tour, Peters will stop in Harrisville to visit the Alcona County Health Clinic and tour the Harrisville Harbor. He will also visit with several Michigan manufacturers, including Wolverine Worldwide in Big Rapids, which produces American-made footwear for consumers and the U.S. military, and Sport Truck USA in Coldwater, which manufactures aftermarket suspension and off-road vehicle products. Peters will also visit broadband provider Bloomingdale Communications. Additionally, Peters’ tour will include several Michigan agricultural producers, with visits to FennValley Vineyards in Fennville, Rolling Meadows Farm in Jones, and the Mastronardi Greenhouse in Coldwater.
Peters’ tour will also highlight his work to strengthen Michigan’s defense industry and support Michigan’s servicemembers and veterans. He will tour Camp Grayling, the largest National Guard training facility in the United States, and meet with veterans at the Harley Davidson dealership in Sturgis to recognize the men and women who have served our country.
