Peters Statement on Extension of Lansing – D.C. Direct Flight Service

WASHINGTON, DCU.S. Senator Gary Peters (MI), a member of the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, released the following statement applauding the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) decision to extend American Airlines’ direct flight service between the Lansing Capital Region International Airport and Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C.:

“Mid-Michigan residents and businesses rely on affordable and convenient air service to connect them with travel and economic opportunities around the globe. Continued nonstop service between Michigan’s capital and the nation’s capital will help increase economic development opportunities and attract new businesses and investments to the greater Lansing area.”

Peters worked to help secure American Airlines’ direct flight service between Lansing and Washington, D.C. in 2016, and urged the Department of Transportation to continue this nonstop service. This extension will remain in effect through October 29, 2019.
