Senators Peters, Stabenow Announce Funding for Infrastructure Improvements at MBS International Airport

WASHINGTON D.C. — U.S. Senators Gary Peters (MI) and Debbie Stabenow (MI) announced today that the Department of Transportation (DOT) will be awarding MBS International Airport $367,200 in funding to repair a runway and a runway lighting system. These funds are from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant program.

“Airports play a critical role in boosting Michigan’s economy by connecting communities and businesses to important destinations and resources,” said Senator Peters. “This federal support will ensure MBS International Airport can continue helping to transport travelers safely and efficiently for years to come.”

“Having reliable and safe air service is crucial for tourism, commerce, and economic development,” said Senator Stabenow. “This grant is an important investment in the infrastructure of our airports and will help our communities rebound from the pandemic.”
